Trautenfels Castle is a castle in the municipality of Stainach-Pürgg in the Liezen district of Styria. It is situated on a rocky promontory at the foot of the Grimming mountain, at an elevation of 673 meters above sea level, overlooking the Enns River. The castle was first documented in 1260/62 as belonging to the Archbishopric of Salzburg. It was located at the intersection of the salt road and the route through the Enns Valley and served as a dam. (Wikipedia)

Red dots or cairns are the only things that show you the "way". Very difficult "way". High risk of getting lost. I gave up and turned back because I couldn't find the way any further. The ascent on the other side is supposed to be easier to find.

Great place to stop for a break at the end of a Gindlhorn tour. It takes about 30 minutes from the inn to the Lessern bus stop (downhill).

In heavy rain, the paths around the lake are soggy and you can get up to your ankles in water. How to approach the upper gravel path, which leads you through the forest.

If you don't stop at the Spechtenseehütte, it's your own fault. There is good food, always good desserts and the drinks are good anyway 😋. And Herbert (landlord) is jo a ned z'wieda 😀.
