The measurement of the Mulde water level was carried out in Bad Düben from January 1, 1824, using a staff gauge on the bank of the Mulde. The gauge house was built in 1893 and is located next to the Mulde river in Bad Düben at kilometer 68.1 above the mouth of the Elbe. It is an octagonal brick building with a hip roof and is of architectural and technological historical significance. The octagonal building consists of 8 side walls in which an entrance door and three windows are integrated. Inside there is a floor opening and using measuring instruments, a so-called recording gauge in the house, the water levels were measured from April 1, 1893. The task of the measuring station was to determine the main gauge of the Vereinigte Mulde, flood gauge, yearbook gauge, gauge with data transfer. On September 1, 1995, the measurements were discontinued as part of the new bridge construction and the associated new construction of a gauge house with a cable crane system. Since then, the building has been used as a small hydrological museum and is a listed monument.[1][2] Source https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pegelhaus_(Bad_D%C3%BCben)
