It is neither a border stone nor a milestone, but "a sculpture by the now deceased Mörfelden stonemason Karl Koban. He carved it for the fun of it and set it up on the Gundweg. The stone consists of a conical column of coarse Rotliegend with a superimposed, grooved sphere of sandstone. On the front, a face can be recognized; below it, a plate is inserted, provided with four coins (1 Euro and 1 Cent as well as 1 Mark and 1 Pfennig), which are unfortunately no longer present, and the year 2002. On the ground, there is a plaque with coordinate information, which, however, does not match the location, but points to a spot 500 meters away (G. Ulsamer). On the back, there is a granite plaque with a Euro symbol, below it a plaque with the inscription "1999 Koban-K.". From Willy Ott's website https://www.steine-in-der-dreieich.de/strassensteine.html

Straight along the west runway. Better in the morning. From midday onwards, it's sunny.

Since November 1983, a memorial stone at Postplatz commemorates the site of the former synagogue of Gräfenhausen.

The synagogue was destroyed in the November pogrom of 1938 (see below). In 1939, 22 Jewish residents were still counted in Gräfenhausen. At the beginning of February 1942, six Jewish residents were still registered in Gräfenhausen. https://www.alemannia-judaica.de/graefenhausen_synagoge.htm

The dilapidated wooden bridge was replaced by a new bridge. The visible remains of the wooden bridge are surrounded by an orange-white plastic fence, which looks like a construction site and does not fit into nature.

A face can be seen in the middle of the boundary stone. With a little imagination you can interpret a medieval Norman with a nose clip helmet. However, that is just a very personal impression.
