The castle towers over the city. Walking up, you're presented with a surprisingly spacious feeling. The surrounding walls convey a sense of security, and I could easily imagine court life at that time. A successful example of contemporary use for interested visitors.

There's a lot to see at Ljubljana Castle. The multivision show inside the castle is often overlooked. A large vaulted cellar houses paintings by Slovenian Impressionists. The images are projected onto the walls, floor, and ceiling—and the drawings come to life through editing, fades, and graphics: Suddenly, children are dancing in circles, leaves are falling to the ground, and grass is swaying in the breeze. It lasted perhaps 20-25 minutes, during which we stood in awe.
