The history of the property dates back to the second half of the 15th century, while that of the present-day castle dates back to the first half of the 17th century. Today, it is owned by the Brothers of Mercy of St. John of God and is part of the Lebenswelten Styria sanatorium and nursing home of the Order of the Brothers of Mercy. The castle is an elongated, two-story building with a hipped roof and two imposing Baroque towers at the entrance. The Lustbühel is a 489 meter high hill in the east of Graz. It is best known for the early baroque pleasure palace of the same name. A pleasure palace is a palace that was not built for the purpose of public administration but for private retreat, hunting and pleasure. Today, among other things, there is a kindergarten in the castle. Part of the palace complex was leased. There is a so-called show farm, a petting zoo and a children's playground. The site has been managed by the city of Graz since December 1, 2022. In the future, future expansions should make it possible for the people of Graz to use the area even better as a local recreation area

As the name of this 17th-century castle suggests, it was once a pleasure palace. This means that the aristocratic owner withdrew here to pursue leisure interests such as hunting. And the castle is still in excellent condition today. On the property you will also find a small cider tavern, which is ideal for a rest after a walk in this area.

Klingenstein Castle (Vasoldsberg) is located just a few kilometers south of Graz on a slight hill, surrounded by a picturesque grove. Today, on the castle terrace, you can enjoy the wide view over the country to the Schöckel on one side and to the Koralpe on the other side. This was necessary when the castle was built in the 13th century, because at that time the castle served to secure the hill country. In the last century, the castle, including the 220-hectare site and all the outbuildings, went into private ownership. In 2018 it was acquired by investors, rebuilt, expanded and opened to the public as a unique wedding and event location from 2020. More information at https://schloss-vasoldsberg.at/
