The wetlands reserve on the far side of the marina ditch is a hotbed of conservation efforts, with more than 100,000 volunteers helping to clean trash, remove invasive plants and restore native plants over the years. More than 260 bird species have been seen in the restored area, though, so it looks like the "positive" effects are winning.
