The Beuerbach Lake is an artificial pond that lies in a valley between the districts of Wallrabenstein, Beuerbach and Bechtheim in the municipality of Hünstetten in the Rheingau-Taunus district (Hesse). The lake is fed by the Schornbach and Klingelbach. The idea for the reservoir came from Egon Alberti, who was a member of the municipal council and a member of the Beuerbach local council at the time. On May 30, 1979, the engineer Ernst Zimmermann from Westerburg was commissioned to plan the project and on May 17, 1982 the groundbreaking ceremony took place. On September 17, 1982, the inflow lock was closed and on October 22, 1982, the "Beuerbach Participants' Association" handed the lake over to the municipality. Since then, the Beuerbach Lake has been a popular local recreation destination for hikes, walks, family outings, nature lovers and photographers. Numerous information boards document the diverse flora and fauna around the lake. The water is managed by our fishing club and we also look after the immediate surroundings.
