Beautiful trail on the Romberg, which circles the rather unspectacular summit. Whether you take this path or the one one floor lower - both lead to the Romberg Gorge, which ends in a waterfall. Behind it is a beautiful, enchanted trail to the Romberg Ponds. Be careful of fences on the ground and in the trail - tripping hazard.

The lower part of the waterfall (seen from Billtalweg) is even more spectacular when it has a lot of water or is frozen. A few pictures show it from there. But since this is a private road, it is difficult to get there.

Beautiful waterfall, which also invites you to linger. You don't necessarily expect who you drive along this route.

One of the few waterfalls in the Taunus. Emphasis is on little, also in terms of size.

The waterfall in the Billtal valley is a worthwhile destination - scenically charming and offering very different experiences depending on the route. It is easily accessible to almost everyone via the Pionierweg path - ideal for a short break or as a stage on a longer tour. If you want to explore the lower part of the waterfall, you have three options of varying difficulty: ⚠️ Respect nature & animals Two of the three paths lead through wild sections, some of which are retreats for wild animals. Please only use them when necessary and protect the flora and fauna. 1. Easy, but via private road From the lower Pionierweg parking lot towards Ruppertshain, then take the next turnoff to the right from the Ölmühlweg. Then straight through the Billtal valley, past the houses of the residents, to the waterfall (and if you want, to the Stoltze-Plätzi). Attention: Private road, officially forbidden. A friendly inquiry with residents can help. 2. Via the Hermin-Herr-Weg From the parking lot on Viktoriaweg, follow path 8 of the circular routes around the Rettershof or the Hermin-Herr-Weg (other side of the valley). As soon as the waterfall is visible, after a gentle left turn on the valley side, you will see a poorly maintained path to the right into the valley. Attention: Lots of dead wood, not an official path. Only suitable for experienced, sure-footed hikers. Leads to the Stoltze-Plätzi, then back to the waterfall. 3. Even wilder via a "forgotten" hiking trail Instead of descending at variant 2, continue towards Naturfreundehaus Billtalhöhe. Shortly before the campsite, turn right onto an old, overgrown path (trail marking still visible after a while on a tree on the left). If you have the feeling of being on a skid road, you are on the right track. The path is also marked on the komoot map. The path follows the valley back to the waterfall, but is very rough. After a while, a trail to the Stoltze-Plätzi becomes visible along the Rombach. From there, take the path to the waterfall.
