significant advantage of this route is that you can choose the difficulty of the conditions of ascent or descent. An asphalt road leads directly to the top.

I recommend this portion on the way up, as it is very steep and you will need your hands as well many time. However, they have put some ropes where hands are needed, I believe that can comfort the hikers not feeling safe (but frankly the ropes are not really needed) - the trail is not exposed. The views are breathtaking along this vertical crest so take the time to stop and look on your back. And bit by not, the summit is showing up on the right, and on the top of the sub-summit you can really discover the 360 view (that you cannot enjoy in one sight from the main summit). So take your time, and enjoy. (Maybe avoid this portion under rain or if really wet, at least on the way down, the rocks are polished calcaire and with this brown terra it will be very slippery all along.)

The trail goes through a pencil area with various thematic panels on the flora and environmental values of the mountains and a fork appears. The path on the left goes up to the summit of Alto de la Lletrera. The trail continues to the right and until the end of the trail at the top of the Penya del Mirador (Els Miradors), an excellent natural balcony of the Marxuquera farmhouses, the coastal mountains, the Mediterranean and just below the Parpalló Natural Area. -Borrell, where the natural wonder of Portalet del Borrell is located in the deepest corner of the ravine.

The climbs of the crest are exhausting, the summit is very close but it is hard to do. Finally, the climb ends at the ridge of the mountain, to the east of the summit and the mound of antennas that completely cover the top. You still have to turn right and walk a few meters along the edge of the massif to reach the enclosure. The path goes around the fence of the antennas and ends at the concrete service track of the telecommunications station. The Mondúver offers an extraordinary panoramic view of the mountains of La Safor, the villages of La Marxuquera and the coast of the Gulf of Valencia. The mountain route continues down the concrete track that climbs to the top from La Drova and Barx, makes the first hairpin and turns to the left by the posts of the short-distance trail.

At about 840 m high, it is undoubtedly one of the panoramic points with the best views in the province of Valencia. Getting to the top of Mondúver involves physical effort due to its steep slopes, but the views are totally comforting when you get there!

The region offers several prominent peaks and viewpoints. The Mondúver summit, standing at about 840 meters, provides extensive panoramic views across the province of Valencia. Another excellent spot is the Monduver forest hut, which offers incredible views of the Marxuquera valley and the Mediterranean Sea from Cullera to Gandia. Additionally, Els Miradors (Penya del Mirador) is known as a natural balcony with views of the Marxuquera farmhouses, coastal mountains, and the sea.
Paratge Natural Municipal Parpalló-Borrell is characterized by its diverse Mediterranean ecosystem. You'll find rich vegetation including holm oak forests, shrublands, pines, and aromatic herbs like pebrella and thyme. The water-modeled limestone terrain has also created numerous geological formations such as caves, chasms, and underground galleries, adding to the area's natural beauty.
Yes, the park is home to the Cova del Parpalló, a site of significant archaeological importance. It is a key reference for the Upper Mediterranean Paleolithic and contains one of Europe's most important collections of Upper Paleolithic art, with nearly 6,000 engraved plaques discovered. Guided tours are available for the cave, departing from the Interpretation Center.
Hiking to the peaks can range from intermediate to challenging. For instance, reaching the Mondúver summit involves physical effort due to its steep slopes, with some ramps reaching 21%. The Crest trail, leading to a sub-summit with 360-degree views, can be very steep and may require using your hands, though ropes are installed for assistance. It's advisable to have moderate fitness for some of the more demanding ascents.
The park is rich in fauna, with birds being particularly abundant. Visitors might also spot various mammals such as genets, foxes, and wild boars, making it an interesting area for wildlife observation.
Beyond peak bagging, the region offers a variety of outdoor activities. You can explore numerous hiking trails, including easy hikes like the Font de Lloret loop. For cyclists, there are road cycling routes such as the La Visteta Viewpoint – Port de Barx loop, and challenging MTB trails like the La Drova Pass – Benita Fountain loop.
Yes, the Crest trail - with amazing views is highly recommended. This vertical crest offers breathtaking views as you ascend, and from a sub-summit, you can enjoy a full 360-degree panorama. It's a challenging but rewarding path for those seeking spectacular vistas.
The Mediterranean climate of the region generally makes spring and autumn ideal for hiking, when temperatures are milder and the vegetation is lush. Summers can be hot, while winters are generally mild, though some trails might be slippery if wet due to polished limestone rocks.
When heading towards Els Miradors, the trail passes through a scenic area with thematic panels detailing local flora and environmental values. You'll also find the natural wonder of Portalet del Borrell located in the deepest corner of the ravine below Els Miradors.
The Monduver area, particularly around the Monduver forest hut, is highly appealing for its incredible views. From this vantage point, you can see the road to La Drova, the Marxuquera valley, and the Mediterranean Sea stretching from Cullera to Gandia, offering a comprehensive panorama of the region.
