If you want to take a little walk from the tram station, you can tag the actual summit of Mount Howard with an easy hike. There's also a restaurant near the tram station called Summit Grill. And of course, the views from here are amazing.

This tramway is the steepest four-person gondola in all of North America. It takes you on a 15-minute trip from the shores of Wallowa Lake to almost the very summit of Mount Howard, and runs from May to October. The views are incredible!

Many consider this vantage point to offer the most breathtaking perspective of Hells Canyon from the Idaho side. Positioned at an elevation of 8429 feet, it stands as the highest viewpoint on the Idaho side. From this vantage point, you not only get a remarkable view of Hells Canyon but also a scenic panorama of the Seven Devils Mountains.

This is one of the most popular trailheads into the Wallowa Mountains. You can start to hike along the West Fork Wallowa Trail or Chief Joseph Trail. There is also parking available at the trailhead.
