The Rocky Island headland used to be the site of a coastguard lookout. Jutting into the North Sea, you can get a great view up and down the coast. The seawatching hut is owned by the Northumberland & Tyneside Bird Club, but visiting guests are usually welcome if someone from the club is present.

Green Bothy is located in the Wark Forest and has three rooms and a wood burning stove.
