On the northern outskirts of Hohenkirchen, the approximately 100-hectare freshwater lake stretches through the inland and invites exploration. A highlight of the Wangermeer lake is a large island, accessible on foot or by bike via a 325-meter-long promenade bridge. A wide variety of animal species can also be observed here. Rare bird species have settled in the Wangermeer lake, and fish have also found their habitat here. Hiking trails of almost 5 kilometers through diverse natural surroundings invite you to experience the area.
