From the Feuerbacher Höhenweg, the vineyards offer a magnificent view of Stuttgart. The view of the TV tower, the city center, and surrounding districts such as Feuerbach and Weilimdorf is particularly impressive. On a clear day, the view extends as far as the burial chapel on the Württemberg hill and Solitude Palace.

The Kotzenloch geological outcrop impressively showcases the rock layers of the Upper Gipskeuper. Particularly striking are the variously colored mudstones and light gray dolomites exposed by erosion.

Stiegelplatz was thus also a transition between "inside" and "outside"—between village life and the world outside. The Esslinger Tor (Esslinger Gate) was the most important access point to the south. It led to Esslinger Weg, a perfectly straight path that flowed into the old Roman road to Esslingen near today's Neuwirtshaus (New Inn)—an ancient road used even in antiquity. For the villagers, this gate was literally "the gateway to the wide world." Stiegelplatz also played an important role in everyday life: It was the daily route of the gooseherd, a traditional figure in many southern German villages. Until the beginning of the 20th century, the gooseherd would walk through the alleys in the morning with his little whistle, and all the geese would follow him. His path led over Stiegel to a fenced-in goose garden by the stream, where the animals spent the day. (Today, the playground is located there at the corner of Pflugfelder Straße and Eisenbahnstraße.) In the evening, he brought the animals back home – and each goose found its own coop on its own. So, the proverbially dumb geese weren't that "stupid" after all. Today, Stiegelplatz is not only a historically significant site, but also a collective memory of Münchingen: It combines the watercourse, local development, everyday life, language, and traffic in a single space – in the heart of town.
