When I was a child, we often walked along the Danube near Landshaag, and after the sun had warmed the rocks, you could find plenty of lizards on the rock faces. The lizards are still there, but these days they prefer to stay down in the grass. Walking along the road, you'll constantly hear rustling somewhere as another lizard flees into hiding. Only with a little luck can you catch a brief glimpse of one of these shy creatures... and only with very good luck will you have time to photograph one.

Almost worth a trip of its own. There is so much to look at, read and learn here that it is almost overwhelmed to walk through the granite pilgrimage route.
