Relatively isolated in nature, with not-so-easy paths to climb. Once you are there, you can see the huge observation tower from afar because there are hardly any trees. About 200 stairs to the top and then comes the wonderful view. Simply super! I find the whole architecture very interesting too. In my case, I was there shortly after sunset and it was super great. Downstairs you can also find garden benches and some sculptures.

Next to the dripstone cave (year-round guided tours in this impressive underworld) and the adjacent (free) wildlife park in the Bilstein valley, the 35m high Lörmecke tower with crossed round timbers and steel rings is a unique structure. 204 steps lead to the top platform and offer a breathtaking view of the Sauerland at 615m above sea level; you are simply speechless! However, those who cannot climb the tower or not completely can also enjoy a very nice view from the two intermediate platforms as well as from the base - it is worth it. There are numerous benches and a picnic area around the tower to linger; naturally, everyone takes their rubbish back with them. The visit can also be supplemented with various difficult or long hikes; the Stadtmarketing Warstein e.V. has published a leaflet for this. So hiking friends, put on your hiking boots and head out into the wonderful nature of the Bilstein valley and the Warsteiner forest.

This bench is built on the former site of an observation deck. It's a smaller, XXL bench.
