Also known as the Evelyn Tunnel, in the 1870s this 145 metre tunnel was mined to shortcut the Yarra River so Pound Bend could be drained and mined for gold. In the 1880s, the tunnel was proposed to be repurposed for hydro power. Neither project was ever completed, so now it's a fun piece of history to explore if you are feeling adventurous.
