Also the American River Bike Trail, this segment of the paved two-lane bike path runs under a tunnel of trees by the riverside. There are numerous gravel and singletrack connecting trails that you can use to explore Mississippi Bar.

Lake Natama was created by the Nimbus Dam that crosses over the American River. It's a great location for running as you can circle the entirety of the lake on well-maintained, paved and flat footpaths. Not to mention, you are afforded wonderful scenery throughout.

Beals Point is a popular day use and camping area along Folsom Lake. There is parking, water and picnic areas, so it is a great place for a break to enjoy the great views of the lake.

This is a beautiful path along Folsom Lake. Due to the wide water level fluctuations, you may, or may not, be lucky enough to access the sandy beach on the lake.
