From the top of the hill you get a nice panoramic view over east Canyon Hills and Mason Mountain. If you come at the right time of the year the wildflowers are in bloom and the hills are awash with colors of bright green and orange.

You can park by the sports fields and walk south along Lone Pine Drive for a short ways until you get to the trail up Heather Ridge. The ridge is a great place to see local flora and fauna. The paved Salt Creek Trail is also just north across Newport Road.

There are bathrooms and benches near the playground in a little forested area near the parking lot. The flower gardens are beautiful. The trail system is extensive and leaves plenty of room for you to customize your hike on different interconnected trails.
