If you're cranking out some elevation gain in an early morning ride, this is a great place to stop for a breakfast β€” or just pause to enjoy the really spectacular views out over Lake Elsinore.

This candy store and gift shop sits right next to the turnoff for the Bear Canyon Trail. The shop has plenty of room for you to picnic, and sells handmade sandwiches and root beer floats, plus homemade fudge and pies β€” a nice stopover point as you ride the road through Cleveland National Forest.

This is a long (mostly) straight stretch of asphalt, with only a few minor grades to handle. A great chance to pick up some momentum and get a good burn going, as long as visibility permits.

This stretch of road riding feels more suburban than urban, passing by a few green spaces and even skirting alongside ranchland for a short time.

This busy road is very popular for all sorts of recreation β€” from road biking to running and walking alongside it.

This is a long, steep grade. If you're riding to the south, it's a screaming downhill; if you're riding to the north, it's a real quad-torcher of a climb followed by a more gradual descent.

Biking is allowed on this lovely riverwalk, although you'll need to watch out for pedestrian users on the relatively narrow trail β€” so this isn't the place to try and hit a personal speed record. The paved riverwalk trail follows Temescal Wash all the way from downtown Elsinore to Riverside Drive.

A quaint, historic community park with large shade trees. In addition to the welcome shade you'll find restrooms, drinking fountains, picnic shelters, play equipment and a central gazebo.
