Gunnison Point is a wonderful overlook situated just behind the South Rim Visitor Center. It offers incredible views of the Black Canyon.

The North Rim Ranger Station is opened irregularly in the summertime. During the wintertime, it is closed. It offers a self-pay station for the park entrance fee, a self-registration kiosk for wilderness payments (when the Ranger Station is closed), and there's an offering of maps, information, a picnic shelter, a toilet, and a water fountain.

A short and fairly easy hiking loop from the visitor center. There is definitely a couple of steep sections, though! This is why I recommend hiking CCW.

Not much of a hike but definitely a great place to stop when driving past. It's a short walk to the viewing point and once you are there you are presented with the best view of the Painted Wall in the entire National Park. The Painted Wall is the tallest wall in Colorado and the third tallest in The Lower 48 after El Cap and Notch Peak.

Chasm View Trail is not the longest of hikes but it offers incredible views on the section of path that follows the canyon, with the Painted Wall Viewing spot as its definite highlight. On the South Rim, there is a dedicated Painted Wall 'hike' but if you are on the North Rim this is the hike to do if you want to catch this magnificent feature in the Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park. The Painted Wall is the tallest wall in Colorado and the third tallest in The Lower 48 after El Cap and Notch Peak.

According to some, this is one of the nicest views of the Black Canyon. From this vantage point, you can see down into The Narrows. The Narrows is a unique spot within the canyon because the canyon walls rise straight from the river up to the rims, which makes it more dramatic than wider parts of the canyon.

There are balanced rocks everywhere across the (Western) United States, with some balancing more than others. I wouldn't say this rock is the most gravity-defying balanced rock around but what makes this one so wild is that if it decides to 'let go' it would fall 1500 ft. into the canyon down below.
