The stone lookout tower, built in 1933, is 3 stories high and was named after the then president of the Nature Walkers Federation. The building is interesting from several perspectives: Firstly, the stamping point of the National Blue Tour is also located here. The Nagy Villám Hill itself, at 378m, is not very high, but its panoramic view is stunning and unique: you can see the Danube Bend perfectly, and even the part before the bend beyond the hill, which is unparalleled and unusual. Of course, the Visegrád Castle obstructs a certain part, but this does not detract from the view. So, it can be said that the Lookout Tower stands in a splendid location. Its top level is open, while the middle and lower levels are closed. There is also a buffet at the entrance, and we need to buy a ticket for a few hundred Ft. This means that the lookout tower has opening hours. In its vicinity, you can find shady benches for rest and a public fountain 100m away. It is a true tourist resting place where we can find both food and water. It is definitely worth climbing for the view!

The Kő-hegyi Menedékház (Czibulka-János-Hütte) stands on the 366-meter-high Kő-hegy near Szentendre and Pomáz in Hungary. The mountain hut was opened in 1933 and is one of the country's last classic hiking huts. It offers food and accommodation. From the hut area, you can enjoy a beautiful view of the Danube valley and the surrounding mountains.

A spring with abundant, drinkable water, with a small lake in front of it.

What a beautiful view of the Danube Bend ☺️. But the castle has much more to offer that you can see.

A popular and well-known excursion spot, a few kilometers from Szentendre is Lajos Spring. It can be reached by an asphalt road that goes up to the Spring. From here, hiking and forestry trails follow. The spring water is drinkable, the spring lake is enclosed by walls and is in fairly good condition. There is no information about the tourist house directly near the spring. In any case, the whole thing could do with some modernization, because everything looks the same as when I was here in 1988...

Close to Szentendre, next to the asphalt road (Dömörkapu út), we find the waterfall created by the Bükkös stream, which is especially spectacular after rainy weather. We can get down the stairs next to the bridge over the Bükkös stream. It has created very beautiful shapes over millions of years, it is definitely worth coming down here for a few minutes!

A very beautiful castle, with a steep climb and a steep descent. But with a bit of time and determination, it's doable. Great views over the Danube.
