Here you go over the dike for kilometers. There isn't much variety, but it's not stressful either - as long as there is no headwind ;-)

Cycling on the Knardijk is a special experience. If the wind is right, you can cycle effortlessly from the Markermeer to the Wolderwijd (or vice versa). The Knardijk is the division between East and South Flevoland, which were drained 11 years in a row. Along the way you will pass 2 locks at the Lage and Hoge Vaart and many nature reserves, such as the Oostvaardersplassen, Oostvaardersveld, the Wilgen Reserve, Knarbos and Knarbos West. House martins breed near the locks and along the way you can hear the bluethroat singing in the bushes. At Knarbos West you can take a turn for an adventurous (but muddy) path through the forest, and later continue your way across the Knardijk.
