The parking lot was relatively full, as there's so much to do at this hotspot. A swimming lake, a barbecue hut with restrooms, and a shower house. The mountain bike trail, and so on... Parking is permitted on the shoulder of the main road in both directions, which was very convenient for us with our Sprinter van.

A very nice trail. It's 17 km long and really makes the most of the few meters of elevation gain.

Tange Lake is Denmark's largest artificial lake, which was created in 1920 to power the nearby Tange Power Plant. This scenic lake offers a tranquil setting for a variety of outdoor activities. You can appreciate the unique history of the area by visiting the power plant itself, which stands as a landmark of Danish engineering. Østre Søbad at Almindsø near Silkeborg is one of Denmark's cleanest lakes. Here are two round, impressive bathing jetties right next to each other with a children's pool and facilities such as changing rooms, lovely benches, toilets and a sauna.

A good hiking and cycling path on a former railway embankment. Artifacts are still visible along the path.
