Bølling Sø is a remarkable place with a fascinating history. Once a vast lake, it was drained in the 19th century to create farmland and peat bogs. In one of these bogs, the world-famous Tollund Man was discovered. In a major and successful conservation effort, the lake was recreated in 2005. The area today is a beautiful example of a restored landscape, with a large, shallow lake at its centre.

The Put & Take lakes at the Vester Mølle dam were originally a forest area, but in connection with the excavation of the associated dam in the mid-1900s, they were dammed and added as part of Rørbæk Sø. Tables and benches are set up by the lakes. In addition, there is a covered seating area with tables and benches, barbecue, disabled toilet, sink and drinking water. There is the possibility of a good walk in the woods and the area.
