The circular route around the lake is very well passable and also wide. Nevertheless, please be careful - Even this wide path can quickly become narrow with oncoming traffic, pedestrians, dog walkers. Keep your eyes open and ride sensibly ;-)

Not just by bike, but for almost every type of sporting locomotion, the route is one of two great options to get from Burgdorf to Steinwedel or vice versa without contact with cars. It is in any case also worth paying attention to the nature next to the well-asphalted path.

Near the intersection of Paradiesweg and Dorfstraße Steinwedel, in the middle of the field, stands a tall wooden post with a stork's nest on top. For many years, a pair of storks has nested there, usually raising several young birds until they become fledged and fly south together to overwinter. The meadow around the stork's nest, where cows and goats graze, seems to be moist enough for the stork family to find food right outside their 'front door'.

A lovely seating area set up by the "Experience City & Nature Working Group" in Lehrte City Marketing. Funded by the EU and the Hanover Region. A big request to everyone stopping here: Please take your own trash with you! (It really goes without saying!)
