A leader in Spain in the typhoid vaccine’s implementation, he conducted campaigns to prevent and fight against the spread of infectious diseases. Currently, in the Promenade of Sitges, there’s a monument dedicated to this illustrious citizen. In 1979 his name was given to one of the secondary and high public schools of Sitges.
