It's located on the dirt road a few hundred meters before the Jaffeau, and it faces directly into the Valle Fredda. There are only a few ruins left, and the roof is missing, so we can't shelter there in case of rain.

Monte Vin Vert (2,696 m) is a peak above Oulx between Seguret and Col Basset. Colletto Vin Vert (~2,590 m) connects the Baume basin and the Seguret valley with the Savoulx valley and Col Basset. It was used by shepherds and Alpine troops as a passage between the two valleys.

Built between the late 19th and early 20th centuries, the Vin Vert shelter was a small Alpine garrison designed to offer temporary shelter to soldiers at high altitude. It was part of the defensive system on the border with France, but was never armed. Used only occasionally, it was abandoned after the Second World War. Today, its stone ruins remain.
