There is a lot to see at the old border crossing. The walls are marked with the years when things were built. The interior is reminiscent of a diner in America. The iced coffee and espresso we ordered were very good and the prices were appropriate. Nice terrace in the courtyard. The toilets were spotlessly clean during our visit. We would go again anytime.

The Carnot Wall connected the arsenal with the provision office, it ran behind the rampart. It was named after the French fortress engineer Carnot.

The bridge is called 'Rheinbrücke Maxau'! It is a double bridge for both 1. trains and 2. cars + heavy traffic. Of course, it thus connects BW with RL-Pfalz

There's a nice bike lane along Siemensallee, but only for cyclists heading into the city. For those heading out of the city, you have to use the shared pedestrian/bike path. This is better suited to a gravel bike/bicycle; it's not very suitable for a road bike heading out of the city.

The route here winds through woods and fields, heading upstream on the right bank of the Rhine. Compared to other users, I found the asphalt very rough and uneven, with some potholes. I was glad I was using a gravel bike.
