Arbeid Adelt is a working windmill in Weelde in the Belgian municipality of Ravels. It is a smock mill and a smock mill that was built by mill builder Van Himbergen for the Bax-Pelkmans family in 1850. Originally, the mill was both a corn and an oil mill, but after a fire in the oil mill in 1906, the mill was rebuilt and the mill stopped beating oil. On 11 September 1921, the mill was damaged when a storm tore off the cap and sails. From 1936, a diesel engine was installed in an outbuilding, and it was no longer professionally ground by wind power. The mill became a protected monument on 28 May 1962. In 1996, Arbeid Adelt was restored to working order. In December 2008, the outbuilding, which contains, among other things, the diesel engine dating from 1936 and a grinding couple, was transferred from the local history society to the mill society "Arbeid Adelt". In the attic, there is a cookie breaker in 2009. Since May 1962, the mill building has been a protected monument, but due to inactivity it fell into disrepair. This changed when the mill was purchased by the municipality of Ravels in 1989, and in January 1993 the restoration plan was approved. The mill has now been restored to its former state, including with a scaffolding braced to the mill itself instead of from the ground. Since 1996, the windmill has been operational again and is used, among other things, for processing (crushing) corn and peas for animal feed. The diesel turbine has also been fully restored and the grinding mechanism that this turbine can use to grind grains for human consumption. For example, a local baker and a brewery are supplied with regional beers.
