The cast-iron bridge dates from 1877 and was built by the iron foundry "De Prins van Oranje" from The Hague. The bridge, which has a limited load-bearing capacity, connects the Rijksstraatweg and Zand en Jaagpad with Brugstraat. The rising section consists of two cast-iron posts supporting an openwork cast-iron hammer. The entire structure has been listed in the national monuments register since 2001. A beautiful route along the Vecht River. Be careful, though, as there's construction going on along the quays.

From this point, you have a wonderful view of the Vecht River and, in the distance, the Vreeland windmill. You can also sit along the Vecht for a while (difficult in many places).

A nice place to ride. Lots of activity on weekends and when the weather's nice.

Beautiful avenue lined with beech trees. There is not much traffic, because most of it goes via the Biltseweg which runs parallel 100 m further on.
