Serious damage has been registered at the Lehnitz lock bridge... it is mainly the abutments where cracks have formed and the concrete is crumbling. To prevent this damage from worsening, a speed limit of 30 km/h has been imposed on the lock bridge.

Anyone venturing this far, ideally starting from Uhlenhof (near Schluft), will traverse an exceptionally charming mixed forest. Even the area around the marsh offers nature lovers and photography enthusiasts everything their hearts could desire. The forester's lodge shimmers through the lush stands of trees. The view is truly magnificent, especially in autumn. In Schluft itself, the trees, buildings, and other details also offer fantastic photo opportunities. Access to Lake Trämmersee is extremely difficult! It's an incredibly secluded wilderness. At the far end, you'll even find a solitary historic forester's lodge, once the Schorfheide residence of the East German bigwig Günter Mittag. The highly fenced property extends right to the lake and is now privately owned.

This memorial stone is very easy to miss. It lies slightly elevated at the edge of the forest (mostly beech trees!) and is hidden by bushes. It is about 10 meters from the cobblestone road. There are quite a few such stones in the Schorfheide region, mostly in complete isolation. They usually commemorate people whom no one knows or needs to know.

A successful ecological project is generally a positive thing. A few steps off the path is a spot where you can get quite close. The forester's lodge is also within sight from there.

You'll encounter a few anglers. If you want shade, head there in the afternoon. That's when the trees provide shade. There's plenty of sun in the morning.
