The 36-meter-high monument commemorates the victorious Battle of Fehrbellin by the Brandenburg Elector Friedrich Wilhelm against the Swedes on June 18, 1675. This earned him the nickname "the Great". The Victory Column now stands where the Brandenburg gun position was during the battle. At a height of 23 meters, you reach a gallery from which you can enjoy a wonderful panoramic view. The gallery can be reached via a 114-step staircase. There is a restaurant right next to the tower.

In 1868, the church, which today seems a little oversized, was built for the 2,000 residents who lived here at the time. The neo-Gothic brick building has three naves inside. The stepped gable is a striking feature. Beneath the standing building are the remains of an older church, and on the top of the tower shines a Prussian crown that was donated in 1701. It is a reminder of the presence of kings in the town, who liked to come here to hunt black grouse.
