This is more of a fire road than a hiking track, but it winds through Royal National Park and connects with various other paths in the park.

You'll need to look between the trees and brush, but there is a nice view from here as you approach the ledge. There's also a trail down to Temptation Creek, if you're up for a challenge.

Follow a small spur trail from Florence Parade and you'll come to this viewpoint over the Hacking River. In fact there are a series of viewpoints along the ridge with some of them providing access down to the river.

Rawson Parade is a dirt, double-track road that parallels and old railroad. It's a shared-use path so expect to see hikers, bikers, and the occasional vehicle. The trail itself is only 2 kilometres but it is easy to connect to others trail to make a loop around the park.

Georges River National Park spans about 533 hectares and comprises sandstone cliffs and bushland. The park is teeming with birdlife, and keep your eyes peeled for a prickly little echidna, most commonly seen among the leaves on the ground.

March 9, 2026, Karloo Trackhead

The Karloo Trackhead begins with some interesting signage and art, and then heads into the bush. This track is very popular and easily accessible, with a few bus stops and the Heathcote Train Station just a few steps away.

Great to cycle on with great views. Beware of stairs down and up to pass under at Southern end. Best to go to Northern End and take road down to low level road bridge to cross water to continue to Engadine
