A really, really big meadow of fritillaries. Wonderful. And, as flowers tend to be: The best time to experience them in bloom is the weeks before Easter.

A beautiful fountain. It also gives the town its name. Dedicated to "Walther von der Traisen," who essentially founded Bad Waltersdorf here at the beginning of the 12th century.

It's a lovely place to take a break with a view of the nearby fishpond. If you'd like, you can even walk around it. It was too chilly for me today to hike any further, so I just "gazed it out." But today isn't every day... :)

A mighty lion adorns the imposing war memorial here. It's well worth a visit. The park next to the church also offers many places to rest.

A small chapel at the crossroads. Unfortunately, I don't know anything more about it. I discovered it while walking past. Does anyone know more?

At the beginning of the 12th century, the High Freeman Walther von der Traisen traveled through Eastern Styria. The forests were cleared and a village was founded – 'Walther's Village' was born. The 'Walther Fountain' is located in his honor in the center of Bad Waltersdorf. https://www.steiermark.com/de/Thermen-Vulkanland/Urlaub-planen/Ausflugsziele/Walther-Brunnen-von-Walther-von-der-Traisen_isd_2107550
