Bardzo poważną rządową inwestycją w zakresie telekomunikacji było wybudowanie pod Gacią Transatlantyckiej Centrali Radiotelegraficznej. Wycofując się 16 stycznia 1945 r., wysadzili w powietrze budynki techniczne i wszystkie maszty.
Dziś w Parku Leśnym Bemowo można spacerować wzdłuż drogi, przy której stały niegdyś gigantyczne maszty. W regularnych odstępach spotyka się betonowe fundamenty z wystającymi szczątkami stalowych konstrukcji (każdy z masztów wspierał się na czterech podporach). W pobliżu skrzyżowania ul. Radiowej z drogą prowadzącą w stronę terenów wojskowych w lesie leżą jeszcze szczątki budynków radiostacji. Około 300 m za torami tzw. magistrali hutniczej (huty Lucchini-Warszawa) można zobaczyć dobrze zachowaną betonową wartownię (współrzędne geograficzne: N52°15’31,0" E20°52’21,2"). W budynku z ocalałym napisem "Czuwaj" czuwały przed laty straże pilnujące strategicznej Transatlantyckiej Centrali Radiotelegraficznej. Gdy w 1951 r. Gać włączono w granice Warszawy, przypomniano sobie o nieistniejącej już wówczas radiostacji i swojską, ale dla notabli z ratusza przaśnie brzmiącą nazwę Gać zmieniono na Radiowo, nowoczesną i godną stolicy.
