The temple was built on the site of a wooden church. During the war in 1944, the church was seriously damaged: the eastern wall was ruined, the roof and vault collapsed. Part of the temple's interior was damaged. It was rebuilt in 1950–1953.

The beach costs PLN 10/person (pretty nice). But if you want to go further to Wake Park, they have to let you go (it's a bit of a stretch - you have to say that you're going to Wake Park. Unless you're actually going to the beach). First he wanted to charge me PLN 20 for two bikes for crossing the barrier... but when I started asking questions and told me that on Wake, it was free...
