In 1933, there were sensitive traffic jams at several points, such as in the extremely narrow village passage of Hämelschenburg and between Tündern and Hagenohsen, where a column path crossed the railway line at grade, leading to long waiting times due to the many special trains. These bottlenecks were immediately eliminated. In Hämelschenburg, part of the cemetery was sacrificed for the new village passage. The Tündern-Hagenohsen road received an underpass for the railway line. To better manage the arrival of hundreds of thousands of people and the immense car traffic for those times, the mostly still unpaved roads around the Bückeberg were paved and several new roads were built. The roads, now partly non-functional, immediately north of the Bückeberg served as column paths and were intended to allow quick access for Wehrmacht vehicles and tanks from the east.
