Comment from Michael Schütz elsewhere: In 2017, the Bilmer farmer and blacksmith Heinrich Kracke erected his wrought-iron artwork "Crucifixion of Christ" at Eisenwinkel. It is made from the remains of old, unusable agricultural machinery and depicts the horror of Christ's death. Kracke took his cue from the custom of wayside crosses common in Catholic regions. There, crosses are erected in the landscape to make the Christian faith visible. The connection to the material, iron, arises from the fact that not far away, remains of an Iron Age bloomery furnace and thus signs of pre-Christian settlement were recently found.

The term Bockmerholz natural forest sounds out of touch. But this forest is completely different from commercial forests, which often have the character of plantations. There is no infrastructure other than a parking lot by the roadside.
