An important warning regarding the classification of this route: It is often labeled as a 'road cycling route', but is in fact a country road with a high potential for danger. The 'horror movie trap': The beginning of the route is deceptively idyllic, open, and clearly visible – you feel safe. But from the middle onwards, the picture changes: Dense tree cover creates strong flickering between light and dark, in which cyclists are often only perceived by car drivers at the last moment. Precisely this transition regularly leads to dangerous near-misses. Why this is life-threatening: Condition & Positioning: The right edge of the road is in poor condition due to potholes, forcing cyclists to ride further into the middle to avoid falls. The width problem: The road is extremely narrow. Given increasingly wider vehicles (especially SUVs), the legally required safety distance when overtaking is often physically impossible, even without oncoming traffic. As soon as the cyclist swerves to avoid the pothole zone, it becomes dangerously tight for them as a cyclist, as there is simply not enough space for a safe overtake. No cycle path: There is no physically separated cycle path. Anyone riding here should be aware that this is not a secured circuit, but a heavily trafficked car road. Ride defensively and do not rely on the 'road cycling route' label – the geometry of the road hardly allows for safe overtaking nowadays! Even if the asphalt has been improved compared to before, the route remains a high-risk zone due to the lack of physical separation and the narrow road with modern vehicle widths.
