The Lapidary is part of the archaeological offerings of the Local History Museum (Zavičajni muzej), which is housed in the historic Bigatto Palace, dating from 1639, in the town center of Buzet. It houses a remarkable collection of Roman stone monuments and architectural fragments—including tombstones, building components, and an old town coat of arms—from the Buzeštine region, mostly dating from the first three centuries AD. The open-air Lapidary in the historic town center also features additional slabs with inscriptions and coats of arms, as well as an ancient well. As part of the museum, the Lapidary offers a fascinating insight into the region's ancient history, connecting it to Buzet's vibrant cultural fabric.
