The object was built in the years 1911–1913 as an extension of the present-day Piastów street. The bridge, approximately 250 meters long and 10 meters wide, was opened in January 1913. The longest, central span intended for navigation was additionally equipped with a rotating bridge. The project and construction were carried out by engineers Narten, Braun, Stuwert, Ostmann, and Herbst.

At the turn of 2006 and 2007, the bridge underwent a major renovation, receiving a new asphalt surface and a new color for the truss. The three-span truss bridge has three spans. The spans are supported by concrete piers. The drawbridge is located in the middle of the central span.
