Flat 4.3 mile section of bike path along the Wantagh parkway to Jones Beach. 3 bridge crossings and usually a pretty strong wind coming from the south. One of the best rides in the area.

Good size lake here with trails and paths and fields. Popular spot when the weather is good. I wouldn't really recommend the lake loop on a road bike, though: pavement is uneven and turns to dirt near the north end. Lake Drive is the most pleasant part. Bonus: this is a reliable spot to see nesting Great-horned Owls in early springtime.
