One of the Lion Trails also leads along the Messelberg, a bare rock that protrudes from the green Messelberg. The Messelberg is also home to the Donzdorf Flying Group's gliding airfield. Not far from there, next to the Rötelstein, is the launch pad of the Staufen Hang Gliding and Paragliding Club.
