The camping area here is gorgeous and there are plenty of spots to choose from. The number of trails in the area makes this a great homebase for exploration.

As seen in the pictures, there is an old VW Beetle that has seen...better days. This car can be reached by traveling through the Gordon Gulch camping area. Tucked away in Roosevelt National Forest, the Gordon Gulch dispersed camping area is a great option for free camping in the Front Range. There are 15 designated sites available, and camping is not permitted outside of these indicated areas.

Barker Reservoir is at the top of Boulder Canyon Drive just outside of the small town of Nederland. This is a great place to catch your breath after the long climb up the canyon and snap some photos.

Bald Mountain is an open, grassy summit just off the famous Switzerland Trail outside of Boulder, Colorado. The hike up to Bald Mountain is generally at a moderate grade until the last little bit to the summit where it steepens slightly. Popular with hikers, mountain bikers, and gravel cyclists, this is a great summit that provides panoramic views of the foothills of Boulder to the east, and the massive peaks of the Indian Peaks Wilderness and Continental Divide to the west.
