The bike path is next to the road, but at a slightly higher elevation. This means a beautiful view of the water. Great!

A relaxing walk along the canal. The sections without expensive barriers are in much better condition.

This, also known as the Lychen Gate, is a gate of the protected city fortifications of Templin in Brandenburg. It is located in the western part of Templin's old town, at the beginning of the road leading towards Lychen. The gate is considered the oldest of the three gates of the Templin city fortifications and is also the smallest. It was built in the Gothic period in the first half of the 14th century. The gate tower is three stories high and has a square floor plan. The gate passage is designed as a pointed arch. The name Mühlentor (Mill Gate) arises from the fact that mill facilities have existed in the area of the front gate since Templin was founded. A final grain mill was operated there until 1990.
