Most of this climb is doable but the nearly 3β€˜ tall ledge would be extreme. There is a rail that circumvents this feature but I didn’t see it from the bottom. The super sketch log ramp at the beginning might best be avoided.

Open from dawn to dusk, this trail is suitable for all skill and fitness levels. It’s a sandy trail with extra grip on the fringes of the corners. Plenty of opportunity to bail out to the road. The corners are mostly sweeping and visibility is good. I rode here to warm up before I tried the more challenging offers here.

I actually biked the trails here and can agree with everything the original poser wrote. I noticed they didn’t record a ride here. πŸ€·πŸΏβ€β™‚οΈ. The parking lot is quite large and offers a fire pit, picnic table under a tree, primitive toilet and a repair stand that sadly has all the tools removed. Who does that? Nice to see anyhow. No garbage can so take your trash. It is possible for the trails to be closed during hunting season so do some research before you make the drive. 🦌

This section was a blast with many turns and more elevation gains. The oak saplings and shrubbery are much closer here so long sleeves might be in order. The sandy trail had more moisture here and offered more grip in the center of the trail. Paired with Couch makes the perfect ride.

The best trail here! More shade amongst the hardwood trees. The soil was less sandy and offered more grip and the oak leaves less slippery than than the pine needles. There were a few stream crossings and some great terrain. If you only ride one trail this is it.

The Lakeside Trail follows along the banks of Choctaw Lake, which is a large reservoir in Tombigbee National Forest. You can boat, fish, and swim in the waters, and the Forest offers camping, picnic, and other day use options for a fee. The trail circling the lake is one of the most popular trails in the National Forest, but there are over 30 miles of dirt roads and biking trails to explore nearby. The most popular loop for mountain biking is probably the Noxubee Hills Outer Loop. This loop starts and finishes at the lake on the Lakeside Trail and travels on forest trails to the south before circling back on different trails to the north.
