Pershyttan is a small mining town about 3 kilometers south-southwest of Nora. The village has been restored and serves mainly as a museum about Bergslagen's mining and ironworking, which began in the early 14th century.

Today's Ramshyttan consists of about ten courtyards. Remains of the old smithy can be seen under the dam.

Good for a break. Nice complex although an industrial monument.

An old railroad bridge over Rastälven, not easy to ride but possible to explore. Just a little further on: The old station in Järnboås is a time typical architectural piece. Typical Swedish style!

Everything used to be about iron production here: raw iron was still produced here until 1953. When the smelter was closed, time stood still here. Everything looks exactly as it did back then. Even the huge water wheel still works and you can see the best preserved charcoal blast furnace in Sweden. By the way, there are great mountain bike trails all around!

Ramshyttan is a typical mountain village. There's not much here - and that's just as it should be! At least you can find accommodation on a horse farm if you like it here. There is a drinking water point to fill up your bottles.
