Castellina Marittima is an Italian municipality of about 2,000 inhabitants located in the province of Pisa, in Tuscany. This charming medieval village stands on a hill of red shale not far from the sea, offering a perfect blend of the Tuscan countryside and the nearby Etruscan Coast. In Castellina was my uncle's holiday home.

The descent after the town of St. Luce is awesome! Good asphalt, nice curves and always full throttle.

Beautiful route, the only flaw in this period is that there are many horseflies.

A special stage of the Sanremo Rally on old-fashioned dirt roads. Perfect for gravel. The dirt surface is compact and the gradient is just right. I did it on August 1st, at 12:00 p.m., but it was mostly in the shade. There are a few horseflies; the important thing is not to stop.
