The current chapel of St. Barbara was built in 1842 on the site of the previous one, dating from 1209 and demolished in 1800, which was a pilgrimage destination and a place of indulgence with a tradition probably dating back to the 13th century. According to legend, it stands on the site of St. Barbara's revelations to the hermit. This is one of the first places of worship of St. Barbara on Polish lands.
