Beautiful little coastal village lying on the south of Cornwall. We stayed here on night two of our West Kernow Way adventure at the Harbour Inn. They were bike friendly and served great food. We watched surfers in the sea and the sun going down before tucking into local fish and chips.

Port Navas creek is one of 7 creeks which feed into the Helford River (the most famous of the creeks is Frenchman's creek which features in Daphe Du Maurier's novel). The creek was used in the 19th century to transport granite from the quarries around Constantine. Now there are commercial oyster beds within the creek.

Gweek village green is a great spot to stop for a picnic beside the creek. There are benches to sit and enjoy the creekside views. The village store is not far from here. Gweek is the head of the Helford River and was once a thriving port. Mining ore was exported from Gweek, and coal and timber were imported for the mines. There used to be a tin smelting house and processing plant for pilchards. The creek has silted up since being a busy port. Now, Gweek is better known for the National Seal Sanctuary.
